Acacia Ridge Students Shine at Regional Science Fair
Our Grade 8 students won top honours at the Rift Valley Regional Science Fair, showcasing projects on renewable energy and water conservation.
A team of five Grade 8 students from Acacia Ridge School brought home gold medals and a special recognition award at this year’s Rift Valley Regional Science Fair held in Nakuru. The students presented two standout projects, a solar-powered water purification prototype and a data model on micro-plastic distribution in Lake Naivasha.
Science teacher Mr. Kariuki praised the team’s dedication: “These learners spent weeks after school researching, building, and refining their projects. What they achieved reflects the spirit of inquiry we nurture here every day.”
The fair brought together over 200 students from 40 schools across the Rift Valley region. Acacia Ridge’s entries were commended for their real-world relevance and strong presentation skills.
Head of School Mrs. Waweru announced that the winning team will go on to represent the school at the national level in June. “We are incredibly proud of these young scientists. They are proof that excellence flourishes when curiosity is nurtured.”
